  3. Once your EndNote 20 Student license order is completed, you will receive an order confirmation with instructions for downloading EndNote 20 for Windows. EndNote 20 for Mac will be released later this year.

EndNote for iPad app is free for download from the Apple Store to all EndNote users. The app allows users to find, store, create, and share references anywhere and anytime. It also enables PDF annotations directly within the app. Users can synchronize their EndNote library across desktop, iPad and online platforms. EndNote Filters - Student Edition. Microsoft Office 365

SLU offers free Microsoft Office University 365 licenses to faculty, staff and students. The licenses are valid for the extent of your professional and/or academic career.

Download Instructions

To obtain your free copy of Microsoft 365:

  • Go tooffice.com.
  • Click 'Sign In' in the upper right corner of the screen.
  • Type in your SLU email address, including the @slu.edu or @health.slu.edu portion.
  • Click the 'Organizational Account' option, if prompted.
  • Type yourSLU password.
  • Scroll down and click 'Install.'

Signing In
  • From the Welcome to Office dialogue box, select 'Sign Into an Existing Subscription.'
  • Enter your SLU email address and SLU password
  • Click 'Next'
  • Click 'Organizational Account'

ATLAS.ti

This alternative stats program is available for university purposes on University-owned or personal machines. The University has purchased a set number of ATLAS.ti licenses that ITS is able to resell to faculty, staff and students for personal machines. These licenses are purchased on an annual basis.

Each computer will need its own yearly subscription:

  • Payment of the $85 per license can be made in-person in the Academic Tech Commons in the Pius Library first floor, or online through the SLU Marketplace. Upon proper receipt, ITS will install or update the license for you.
  • To obtain the full installer, you will need to bring either a flash drive 2GB or larger, your computer, or you will need purchase a flash drive from the center to obtain the software. The flash drive media kit costs starts at $10.
  • To obtain just the license file to update an already installed software, you will need to bring either a small flash drive, your computer or elect to have the license file emailed to you.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR MAC USERS WITH ENDNOTE

MacOS 10.15 Catalina

Before upgrading to MacOS 10.15 Catalina, it is necessary update to EndNote X9.3 by following this procedure (Crandon Services site).

Note: If you are nearing the end of your project (e.g. your PhD thesis), it is better not to update your operating system.

Important Notes: The latest version of EndNote is X9. Please note the following identified issues.

EndNote is best used with Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. Security settings in Safari can prevent direct export from databases.

Once it is in your Downloads folder, EndNote will need to be installed in your Applications folder.

To install EndNote:

  • Make sure no applications are running.
  • Start the EndNote installation program by double clicking the downloaded installer file (EndNote-X9OSX.dmg) to display an EndNote X9 folder.
  • Drag the EndNote X9 folder to the Applications folder on your hard drive.Double click on the Applications folder, then the EndNote X9 folder, then the EndNote X9 application icon in order to launch EndNote.
  • At this point you have the option to register for an EndNote X9 online account.
  • Follow the prompts, then Click Done

Complete the installation:

By default EndNote X9 only installs a selection of the most popular filters, connection files and output styles. Unlike Windows users, Mac users are not offered the Custom installation option during the installation process. Additional connection files, filters and output styles must be installed manually:
